The Rite of Confirmation was celebrated Oct. 24 for the following ninth grade students as they made public profession of their faith: Avery Harrison, Jenna Hill, Zachary Mc Call, Nathan Miller, Drew Minges, Phillip O’Connor, Taylor Rister, and Katie Wessinger.
The Festival of Reformation will be recognized on Oct. 31. The Chancel Choir will sing special anthems and lead us in traditional hymnody, as the freeing message of God’s Word and the gospel of Christ is proclaimed. The Heartland Conference Reformation Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pomaria, Sunday, Oct. 31, at 3pm. The Rev. Dr. Julius Carroll, Director of Contextual Education at Lutheran Southern Seminary, will be the guest preacher.
Twenty-one youth and six adults will be attending a weekend Fall Beach Retreat at Coastal Retreat Center, Oct. 29-31. “We Believe…” is the theme as they will participate in Bible Study and worship on the beach.
Mt. Horeb Leisure Timers will head out for a road trip on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 10:30am, to Ridge Spring to visit The Nut House. Call the office or sign up on bulletin board.
A “CAN”ual Fall Festival for the community is being held Nov. 13, 4-7pm at Mt. Horeb. Non-perishable items will be collected for We Care of Chapin,. There will also be hayrides, games, cake walks, food, a bake sale, and a jump castle.
